Racing

Lincoln Sailing Club provides the BEST way to learn and to improve your sailing skills- RACING.

Anyone can Race

LSC welcomes anyone to race with us in our scheduled "club racing" days. Any boat can be scored. However only LSC members and associate members can park boats on the site grounds and use the LSC launch ramp. If you have other questions about club racing or are interested in a membership, inquire via email - lincolnsailingclub@gmail.com

One-Design

LSC is the home for one-design sailboat fleets of Snipe, Sunfish, and 420s. One-design means all the boats are nearly the same so racing is a test of the sailor, not the boat. The club hosts the annual Snipe regatta, The Fire on the Water, in June. The Sunfish Open Regatta in the Fall.

Mixed Fleet

Also provided is a racing outlet for all other types of sailboats through handicap racing called the Mixed Fleet. Boats are given speed ratings depending on the make and model, timed as they complete the race course and then adjusted to the handicaps to find the finish order. The Commodore's Cup is the regatta for the Mixed Fleet and will feature Snipes, Sunfish and a myriad of boats small and large all racing against each other.

Summer Club Racing

All summer long, scheduled club races occur nearly every weekend. Racers are scored in each fleet (one-design and mixed fleet) and accumulate points that are applied to fleet season championships. Racers are working for weekly results, but also to accumulate points toward the end-of-year standings.
